Originally designed in 1954 in collaboration with pilots and navigators from the former Pan American Airways.

The black/green bezel edition (also known as a 'Sprite') is a left handed version with the crown and date on the left hand side of the casing. Quite a rarity and very sought after amongst collectors the world over.
